What is oud?

It forms when a wild agar tree (Aquilaria) is infected by a particular mould and responds by producing a rich, aromatic resin. How to get the strongest oud scent at home
A few simple things make the difference between a scent that fills a room and one that disappears:
- Warm it properly. Use a wax warmer that fully melts the wax to release the fragrance oils — a well-melted pool is what carries oud's depth.
- Match the scent to the space. Oud shines in living rooms, bedrooms and hallways in the evening. It's a nighttime scent by nature.
- Give it time. Oud is a slow scent. Let it settle for twenty minutes or so and you'll notice the smoky base emerge beneath the opening.
